Steamed Sweet Potatoes with Avocado Mash for Ulcer
Soft-steamed sweet potato chunks served with a simple lemon-kissed avocado mash — a filling, gentle meal with barely any seasoning.

Steaming instead of frying keeps this one about as gentle as a meal can get — soft sweet potato chunks and a bowl of mashed avocado, nothing more complicated than that.
The avocado does a lot of the work here. It mashes into a naturally creamy, healthy-fat-rich topping without needing dairy, and its mild flavor doesn't compete with a sensitive stomach the way sharper toppings might. Lemon juice is listed as optional and in a very small amount, since some people managing ulcer-friendly eating prefer to skip acidic additions altogether — the mash still tastes rounded without it, thanks to the olive oil and a light pinch of salt.
Serve it warm, either with the avocado spread over the potatoes or spooned on the side for dipping.
