This is about as low-effort as breakfast gets — two slices of toast, a swipe of peanut butter, and a sliced banana on top, ready in under five minutes.

Whole-grain bread and banana provide a mix of complex and natural sugars that many people associate with steady energy and mood-supportive eating, while peanut butter adds protein and healthy fat to slow things down a bit. A sprinkle of cinnamon and chia seeds on top is a small finishing touch that adds flavor and a bit of extra fiber.

Eat it warm, right after the toast pops, while the peanut butter is still soft. Swap almond or sunflower seed butter in for peanut butter if that's your preference, and a light drizzle of honey on top is a nice finishing touch if you want a touch more sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices whole-grain bread
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butternatural, no added sugar
  • 1 banana bananasliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamonoptional, for flavor and mood support
  • 1/2 teaspoon chia seedsoptional, for omega-3 and fiber

  3. 3Arrange banana slices on top of the peanut butter.
  4. 4Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and chia seeds if desired.
