Ripe papaya blends into something almost silky on its own, so this smoothie doesn't need much else — almond milk to thin it out, a little lime juice to brighten it, and honey only if the papaya isn't sweet enough by itself.

Unsweetened almond milk keeps the drink lighter than one made with dairy or fruit juice, which fits well if you're keeping an eye on added sugar as part of a thyroid-conscious routine. It comes together in the time it takes to blend, making it an easy option for busy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ripe papayapeeled, deseeded, and cubed

  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrupoptional, for sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lime juiceto enhance flavor
  • 3–4 pieces ice cubesoptional, for a chilled smoothie

  2. 2Add papaya cubes, almond milk, lime juice, and honey (if using) into a blender.
