Mango-Orange Sorbet with Fresh Mint and Ginger
A dairy-free tropical sorbet of frozen mango and orange juice blended with fresh ginger, lime, and mint.

This sorbet needs nothing more than frozen mango, fresh orange juice, and a knob of ginger, common in immune-supportive cooking, blended until smooth and freezer-firm. No ice cream maker required.
Mango and orange together give this dessert a genuinely strong dose of vitamin C, and the ginger and lime keep the sweetness from tipping into cloying, so it tastes bright rather than sugary. Fresh mint scattered over the top adds a cooling finish.
Blend everything, freeze for a couple of hours to firm up, then scoop and serve with extra mint. It's a naturally dairy-free, refreshing way to end a warm-weather meal.
Ingredients
Most ingredients here are everyday market staples across West Africa. A handful of specialty items may be easiest to find at a local open-air market or an African grocery store if you're elsewhere.
