Hibiscus (Zobo) Drink Without Sugar
Dried hibiscus petals simmered and steeped into a deep-red zobo drink, sweetened naturally and completely sugar-free.

Zobo is usually loaded with sugar by the time it hits a cup, so this version leaves that out entirely and lets the hibiscus, ginger, and cloves carry the flavor on their own.
Hibiscus tea has a naturally tart, cranberry-like flavor that holds up fine without sweetening, and this recipe fits its heart-healthy and high-blood-pressure tags by skipping added sugar altogether — using stevia, monk fruit, or erythritol instead if you want any sweetness at all. Ginger and a pinch of cloves steep alongside the petals, adding warmth without needing sugar to balance them out. A long simmer followed by an even longer steep pulls maximum color and flavor from the dried petals before straining.
Chill it in the fridge for a few hours if you prefer it cold, or serve it warm straight from the pot.
