This is a simple steep-and-strain tea — no special equipment needed beyond a teapot or a heatproof mug.

Lemon balm and passionflower are both herbs traditionally used in calming teas, which is why this infusion is tagged for sleep and stress support; many people build a short nightly ritual around brewing and sipping a cup like this one. A little honey and a lemon slice soften the herbal edge without overpowering it.

Let it steep the full eight to ten minutes for the fullest flavor, then sip slowly.

Because it's naturally caffeine-free, it's a good option even for a second or third cup in the evening. Store any leftover dried herbs in a sealed jar away from light to keep them fresh longer.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons dried lemon balm leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried passionflower
  • 2 cups hot waterjust below boiling
  • 1 teaspoon honeyoptional, for sweetness
  • 2 slices fresh lemonoptional garnish

  1. 1Place lemon balm and passionflower in a teapot or heatproof cup.
  2. 2Pour hot water over the herbs and cover. Let steep for 8–10 minutes.
  3. 3Strain into mugs. Add honey if desired and garnish with lemon slices.
  4. 4Sip slowly, ideally before bedtime.
