Chamomile & Lavender Bedtime Tea for Relaxation
A gentle steeped tea of dried chamomile and culinary lavender, finished with honey and a slice of lemon.

Set the kettle on and this tea is ready in under ten minutes, which makes it an easy last step in a wind-down routine.
Chamomile and lavender are both commonly used in calming herbal teas, which is why this blend is tagged for sleep and stress support — many people find the ritual of steeping and sipping slowly just as relaxing as the tea itself. A little honey softens the floral flavor if you prefer it sweeter.
Sip it slowly in the last half hour before bed, away from screens if you can manage it.
Because the flavor is delicate, it's worth using filtered water and letting the kettle come just off the boil rather than a rolling boil, which can make the herbs taste bitter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water — filtered
- 2 teaspoons dried chamomile flowers — or 2 chamomile tea bags
- 1 teaspoon dried lavender buds — culinary grade
- 1 teaspoon honey — optional, for sweetness
- 2–3 slices lemon — optional, for a calming citrus note
Instructions
- 1Bring water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan or kettle.
- 2Add chamomile and lavender to a tea infuser or directly into the hot water.
- 3Steep for 5–7 minutes, covered, to allow the calming oils to infuse.
- 4Strain the tea (if loose herbs were used) and pour into mugs.
- 5Sweeten with honey and add lemon slices if desired.
- 6Sip slowly before bedtime to promote relaxation and restful sleep.
