This smoothie tastes more like a treat than anything virtuous, but it's built almost entirely from carrots and oranges — two ingredients known for their vitamin C and beta-carotene content.

Both nutrients are frequently mentioned in skin-health and anti-aging conversations, and blending them with almond milk gives the drink a smooth, sippable texture rather than the pulpy bite of a straight juice. A little fresh ginger adds warmth, and honey rounds out the citrus tang if you want it sweeter.

Blend until frothy and drink it fresh — the color alone is worth the effort. Leftover carrot pulp from a juicer can go straight into this blender version instead of being wasted, since blending — unlike straight juicing — keeps the fiber in the finished drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium carrotspeeled and chopped
  • 2 large orangespeeled and segmented
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milkor water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juicefreshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated gingeroptional for extra glow
  • 1 teaspoon honeyoptional, to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. 1Add carrots, oranges, almond milk, lemon juice, ginger (if using), and honey to a blender.
  2. 2Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. 3Add ice cubes and blend again until chilled and frothy.
  4. 4Pour into glasses and serve immediately as a refreshing, anti-wrinkle smoothie.
